Thumbs up for the best and thumbs down for the worst in smokefree policies this month.

Thumbs Up

To Beverly Hills. As of January 1, a new regulation will be in place that prohibits smoking in all multi-unit dwellings in the city, and includes balconies, patios, and decks.

Also on January 1st, Yolo County buildings and properties will be completely smokefree.

Thumbs Down

To Juul for breaking the state workplace safety law for over two years, allowing vaping indoors. E-cigarette use has been illegal in California workplaces since June 2016, about a year after the Juul came onto the market.
