M.J. Pierce joined the ANR Foundation in 2012 and works as the Law & Policy Acquisition Specialist with the Ordinance Team. Her responsibilities include entering news items and legislative status information on tobacco and smoking control laws into ANR Foundation’s Laws Database and acquiring and processing those state and local laws for analysis by staff Policy Analysts. M.J. spends much of her day on the telephone and at her computer corresponding with city clerks, council staffs, and public health officials from all 50 states. She also assists the Ordinance Team with the compilation of ANR Foundation’s quarterly smoking control ordinance lists. M.J. received her bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Journalism from George Washington University and her law degree from University of California Hastings College of the Law.
