The American University in Cairo (AUC) has launched an initiative to phase-in a smokefree and tobacco-free campus policy.

According to the news coverage, smoking will initially be allowed in designated areas, and by February 2019, the campus will be entirely tobacco-free, thereby protecting the health of students, faculty, staff and visitors! The article stated, “At the start of the new year, there are more than 2,000 smoke-free campuses in the United States, according to the American Nonsmokers’ Rights Foundation.”
