NJ CEASE Forms PAC, “The Real Deal” videos Tell the Story of Work in Secondhand Smoke
NJ Casino Employees Against Smoking Effects (CEASE) members packed the house in 2023, lifting their voices to tell the story of their deadly work in secondhand smoke. After a two and a half year push, the bill never came to a vote. CEASE and ANR are not giving up. Pete, one of CEASE’s founders, was quoted in the NJ Monitor, “We’re going to keep fighting.”
In the wake of legislators turning their backs on casino employees, Casino Employees Against Smoking Effects (CEASE) announced it plans to form a new political action committee to bring accountability. “Vince Polistina has revealed himself to be untrustworthy,” said Pete Naccarelli, CEASE co-founder and an Atlantic City table games dealer.
Casino workers in KS, RI, PA, and NJ are all waiting to see what 2024 brings. Many have contributed their stories to our Real Deal series. View quick stories of how secondhand smoke affects the health and safety in casinos.
