Thumbs Up to the St. Louis Public Housing Authority for drafting updated changes to their smokefree policy, including a lease addendum, offering further protections to all residents in advance of the HUD rule implementation in 2018. 73.7% of US Adults favor smoke-free public housing! A recent study released by the CDC Office on Smoking and Health assessed the prevalence and determinants of favorability toward smoke-free public housing among U.S. adults. According to the authors, these data can inform the implementation and sustainment of smoke-free policies to reduce the public health burden of tobacco smoking in public housing. Read More
